Four People Shot at Howe Park - Unauthorized Gathering Turns Violent





On April 18 2026, a large unauthorized party of hundreds of people at Howe Community Park in Sacramento in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade area descended into chaos when 20 to 25 gunshots echoed through the area as Sacramento County law enforcement were in the process of dispersing the crowd.

The Incident

At around 6:30 PM on April 18, the Sacramento County law enforcement was alerted concerning people potentially carrying concealed firearms at the park. Another caller advised of a possible physical altercation and people leaving the area quickly.

Law enforcement air support was sent to the area and searched the park but did not locate any active disturbance.

Nonetheless, an estimated several hundred attendees had assembled at the location for what the sheriff's office identified as an unauthorized gathering. Officers encircled the park, activated emergency lights, and took about 15 minutes directing the crowd to leave using public address systems.

Shooting Victims
